Water Management

The war has damaged or destroyed critical water infrastructure, including water treatment plants, water mains, and pumping stations. This has disrupted the supply of safe drinking water to millions of Ukrainians, especially in the eastern and southern regions of the country. Sewage treatment plants have also been damaged or destroyed, and there has been an increase in the dumping of waste in rivers and other waterways. This has led to the spread of waterborne diseases, such as cholera and typhoid fever.

The reconstruction of Ukraine’s water sector will be a major undertaking. It will require substantial investments, technical expertise, and international cooperation.
